It has been a while since I last posted. A lot has happened. I retired in October from my nursing job. I started a new job working for our town. I am 7-8 weeks into my EMT course and passed my Emergency Vehicle driving course. Wow! My life is great! I have lots of time to spend with my dogs. I’m teaching agility two classes every Wednesday evening and that is lots of fun. I have a seasons pass to Gore Mountain. They opened today but with limited trails opened. I have new skis and boots and can’t wait to get out on the trails with my friend, Steve. Hope everyone is safe and well!
Getting colder
So the days are getting shorter and the temperature are getting colder every day. In a few days it will be November and the clocks will be turned back an hour. I have been busy with my new job there now for almost three weeks. It is a fun job with many new things that I am learning. I really enjoy my hours and the fact that I only am 5 minutes from work.
I started my EMT course last week and it has kept me busy. I hope to start responding to calls in the next couple of weeks.
What I have neglected is working with my dogs and in my garden. There is snow predicted for Thursday evening into Friday! Yikes! But the forecast for the weekend is sunny so I’m going to try to get most of my fall outside stuff done.
Than my focus will be on playing with my fur babies!

New equipment
Tomorrow, 9/27, we are traveling to Deerfield, NH to pick up a teeter, snooker flags, a triple jump and numbers. It will be about an 8 hour round trip but hopefully the autumn leaves will be nice. We will be taking two of our dogs along for the ride, Diego and Levi Jack.
This is a picture of Diego winter 2016 at an agility fun run. Since he is hairless he doesn’t like the cold and has many coats and sweaters.

New beginnings
So in seven days I’m leaving my nursing job! I love my job and love being a nurse. But I have decided to move in a direction of a better Work-Life balance. My days working as a nurse usually are between 14-15 hours long. I have been a nurse for 16 1/2 years. I now want to spend more time at home with my husband and my dogs. There are so many things I will enjoy doing like gardening, training my dogs, reading and knitting to name a few.
Who I am!
I am an Adirondack girl who loves dogs and dog agility. My passion is working with my dogs and always being so amazed as to how quickly they understand what it is that I’m trying to teach them. Dogs are much smarter than we give them credit.
I love to talk with other dog owners about their dogs.
I recently had an amazing thing happen with my 15 year old Diego. He is a mix breed of a poodle and a Mexican hairless, a one of a kind. He cardiac arrested, I did CPR and got him back 😯. It was unbelievable! I recommend that if you get the chance you take a class in canine CPR. I’m an RN so I just did what I was trained to do. But I think it was mostly a case of being at the right place at the right time ☺
Other things I love:
Gardening, knitting, reading, biking, walking, cooking, and working outdoors.
